Inside Schizophrenia
Small Print on Cookies
This is the small print, but there is not much of it. Inside Schizophrenia does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies or analytics cookies. We do not use third-party scripts that would set them on our behalf either.
So why is there a banner?
The notice you see on your first visit is there to be open about how the site works and to give you a clear choice. Whether you click accept or decline, the site behaves in exactly the same way, because there is nothing optional to switch on or off.
What is stored on your device
The only thing saved is your answer to that notice. It is kept in your browser's local storage, a small storage area that belongs to your browser on your device. Strictly speaking this is not a cookie, but it works in a similar way, so we mention it here.
| What | Where | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your accept or decline choice | Local storage in your browser | So the notice does not appear on every page | Until you clear your browser's site data |
The stored answer stays on your device and is never transmitted. We cannot see it, and it is not linked to you in any way.
How to change your mind
To see the notice again, clear the stored data for this site in your browser settings. In most browsers you will find this under privacy or site settings, where you can remove the data for a single website without affecting any others. The next time you load a page, the notice will reappear.
Blocking storage altogether
You can also set your browser to block local storage or cookies for all sites, or just for this one. Every article will still load and read normally. The only difference is that the notice may show up more often, because your browser cannot remember your answer.
What about the server?
Delivering a web page always involves a server. Our hosting provider keeps short technical logs for security, as explained on How We Handle Data. Those logs are separate from cookies and are not used to track you around the site.
If this ever changes
If we ever add something that would set a cookie, we would update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it. Questions are welcome at mail@insideschizophrenia.com.
